Easily add your own custom WordPress events registration fields to any of your forms. In this tutorial we will show you to create your own custom registration forms for any of your events.<\/p>\n

Adding your Custom WordPress Events Registration Fields<\/h2>\n

First of all, head over to the events management section of the plugin. Find the event you want to create your custom fields for, than click on Manage<\/em><\/strong>, than click on the Questions<\/em><\/strong> link as seen below.<\/p>\n

Next, click on the Add New Question button:<\/p>\n

Once you click on the button, you will be taken to the next page which were all the magic happens. I will describe one by one each field so you understand exactly what each means.<\/p>\n

Custom Field Choices<\/h2>\n

Field Question –<\/strong> This is the title of your custom WordPress events registration fields. For example: How did you hear about us? do you have pets? name of your parents, etc. etc.<\/p>\n

Field Type –<\/strong> This is the type of fields that you can use to create your questions. Hence, you have five types of fields to choose from:<\/p>\n

  1. Text:<\/span><\/strong> This is generally what I would call short answer questions, typically consisting of a single sentence. Where the registering person would type in their response. You do not need to put anything in the Selections field for this question type.<\/li>\n
  2. Text Area:<\/span><\/strong> This is similar to the Text, except you are looking more for an paragraph\/multiple sentence response. You do not need to put anything in the Selections field for this question type.<\/li>\n

    Single:<\/span><\/strong> This will provide radio button answers where the registering person will select one of several options. Yes\/No, True\/False are good examples of this type of question. Basically a multiple choice question with one possible choice. When entering this question you will need to provide the list of choices that will appear. Separate your choices by a comma: True, False etc. Attention: Do not provide answer choices that have a comma in the response!<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. Multiple:<\/span><\/strong> This is similar to Single Type questions but gives them the option of selecting several of the choices instead of just selecting one item. Basically a multiple choice question with several possible choices. When entering this question you will need to provide the list of choices that will appear. Separate your choices by a comma: Newspaper, Web, A Friend, Billboard etc. Attention: Do not provide answer choices that have a comma in the response<\/em><\/span><\/span>!<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Dropdown:<\/span><\/strong> This question type is similar in nature to the Single, exept instead of providing the choices in radio buttons, it provides them in a drop down box. This is handy if you have a lot of choices the person needs to choose from, it prevents them from taking up a lot space on your registration form.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Field Option –<\/strong> This is where you add your options separated by commas as explained above. This applies only to multiple checkmarks and dropdowns.<\/p>\n

    Do you want this field to be mandatory? –<\/strong> If you want to oblige your customers to fill out the field, choose if you want to make it mandatory for them to fill it our or not.<\/p>\n

    Comments –<\/strong> This section is for admin use only. It will serve as a note about the field, its for internal use only.<\/p>\n

    Finally, click on the Add Question button and repeat the process for the rest of the fields you would like to create. You can add as many custom fields as you want to your registration forms.
